Go any where, look anywhere, and you may observe that there are literally over a thousand skin care brands in the market currently. With so many choices, choosing the appropriate skin care items may be a little impossible. I am going to assist you to filter the options by applying a simple filter of what may be critical in selecting skincare products. I can remove most of the brands by checking that the items are from a brand that is; independently owned, are toxin-free, and are cruelty free. These are important values that we all share and everyone supports from a brand.Independently-owned brands are brands that have not taken any external capital in exchange for a percentage of ownership of the company. These companys are usually known as Indie brands. There are numerous Indie brands across the market that run on a limited basis due to their small size. Plus there are a few Indie brands that are leading the trend and have grown into a nationwide existence. There are additionally a few Indie brands that are chasing the prize of being globally-traded. One such leader in the Indie market is Russell Organics. They are succeeding across all beauty channels from mass beauty to prestige. Russell Organics is also internationally traded, with a publicly stated target of becoming the first globally traded Indie brand. If choosing an Indie brand be wary of not disclosed external investors. We have checked, and almost all of the bigger so-called Indie brands have received external investors.
The next filter for selecting a good skin care brand is it being toxin free. What does this actually mean? There are thousands of synthetic ingredients, botanical ingredients, waxes, and extracts used to make products. Many of these ingredients are synthetic toxins that have been shown to be toxic to humans and to the environment. Russell Organics is heading the Clean Beauty trend by never using toxic ingredients and by fully disclosing every ingredient in every product. Look on your own. Check the labels. Do you notice ingredients listed as fragrance? Did you realize that fragrance may contain over 1000 chemicals and you would never realize which ones? Talk about a dangerous situation. Did you ever enter into a space and smell a parfum and immediately have itcy eyes and begin to sneeze? Those are the toxins that may be also be hiding in your organic skin care care products. A great resource to research on ingredients is Environmental Working Group that has created a large database of ingredients and listed their level of toxicity.
The remaining criteria is the brand being cruelty-free. What does cruelty-free really mean? There is common misinformation regarding the phrase. Let’s begin by identifying that to be cruelty-free, the brand is required to be a vegan brand. That means no animal derived ingredients such as milk, honey, beeswax are never used in any product. That eliminates at least 90 percent of the brands on the market. The other issue for being cruelty-free is having not tested products on animals. All of the global mass skin care brands have tested on animals. This chasing of profits at the expense of harming animals is not excusable and shouldn’t be supported by purchasing their products.
In summary, these simple key filters will help you to narrow down the list of selections to those brands that are worthy of your support. From there it will be an easy option of selecting the right skin care product for your skin type.
