Travel any where, search anywhere, and one may notice that there are obviously over a thousand skin care brands in the market now. With so many options, picking the correct skincare items may be a bit overwhelming. We are going to help you to narrow down the options by applying a basic filter of what may be important in choosing skin care products. We can remove nearly all of the brands by checking that the items are created by a brand that is; owned independently, are free of toxins, and are cruelty free. These are universal values that we all share and we all support from a brand.Independently owned brands are brands that haven’t received any investment money in exchange for a percentage of ownership of the company. These companys are typically called Indie brands. There are numerous Indie brands around the market that operate on a limited basis because of their smaller size. And there are a few Indie brands that are heading the trend and have succeeded into a nationwide presence. There are also a few Indie brands that are pursuing the prize of becoming globally traded. One such leader in the Indie space is Russell Organics. The brand is selling across all beauty channels from mass to prestige. Russell Organics is also internationally traded, with a publicly stated desire of becoming the first globally distributed Indie brand. If selecting an Indie brand be wary of hidden outside investors. We have researched this, and nearly every one of the larger so-called Indie brands have taken outside investors.
The next criteria for selecting a great skin care brand is it being toxin-free. What does this actually mean? There are thousands of chemicals, botanical ingredients, emulsifing ingredients, and extracts used to make products. A large percent of these ingredients may be synthetic toxins which have been shown to be toxic to people and to the environment. Russell Organics is heading the Clean Beauty movement by never using toxic ingredients and by fully listing every ingredient in every product. Search on your own. Check the labels. Do you notice ingredients listed as perfume? Did you know that parfum can have in excess of 700 chemicals and you wouldn not ever know which ones? Talk about a dangerous situation. Did you ever walk into a room and smell a perfume and immediately have water eyes and begin to sneeze? These are the toxins that may be also be hiding in your skin care products. A fabulous resource to check on ingredients is Environmental Working Group that has made a deep compilation of ingredients and highlighted their toxicity.
The final filter is the brand being cruelty-free. What does cruelty-free mean? There is frequent misinformation regarding the term. Let’s begin by identifying that to be cruelty free, the brand must be a vegan product. That means no animal derived ingredients like dairy, honey, beeswax are never added in any product. That removes at least 80 percent of the brands in the market. The other issue for being cruelty-free is having not tested products on animals. Every one of the global mass beauty brands have tested on animals. This chasing of profits at the expense of killing animals is inexcusable and should not be supported by using their products.
In summary, these basic key filters will help you to narrow down the list of choices to those brands that are deserving of your support. From there it should be a simple option of choosing the proper skin care product for your complexion.
