Travel anywhere, look anywhere, and you will observe that there are obviously well over a thousand beauty brands on the market now. There are so many options, choosing the appropriate skin care items may be a bit overwhelming. We are going to assist you to filter the list by applying a basic filter of what may be critical in choosing skincare products. I can eliminate nearly all of the brands with making sure the products are created by a brand that is; independently owned, are free of toxins, and are cruelty free skin care-free. These are key values that we all have in common and everyone supports from a brand.Independently-owned brands are brands that haven’t taken any outside capital in exchange for a percentage of control of the brand. These brands are commonly called Indie brands. There are numerous Indie brands around the market that run on a small basis due to their small size. Plus there are a few Indie brands that are leading the movement and have grown into a nationwide presence. There are additionally a few Indie brands that are chasing the goal of being globally traded. One such brand in the Indie vertical is Russell Organics. The brand is expanding across all beauty channels from mass to prestige. Russell Organics is also internationally distributed, with a publicly stated desire of becoming the only globally traded Indie brand. If choosing an Indie brand beware of not disclosed external investors. We have researched this, and almost all of the larger so-called Indie brands have taken outside investors.
The next criteria for selecting a good skincare product is it being toxin-free. What does this truly mean? There are thousands of chemicals, botanicals, waxes, and extracts used to formulate products. Many of these ingredients are synthetic toxins that have been shown to be toxic to human beings and to the environment. Russell Organics is leading the Clean Beauty trend by not using toxic ingredients and by entirely disclosing every ingredient in every product. Look on your own. Look at labels. Do you see ingredients listed as perfume? Did you know that parfum can contain in excess of 800 chemicals and you would never know which ones? Talk about a scary scenario. Have you ever step into a room and smell a perfume and at once have itcy eyes and begin to sneeze? Those are the harmful chemicals that can also be hiding in your skincare products. A fantastic resource to check on ingredients is Environmental Working Group that has created a large database of ingredients and highlighted their toxicity.
The last filter is the brand being cruelty free. What does cruelty free really mean? There is frequent confusion regarding the term. Let us start by clarifying that to be cruelty-free, the brand needs to be a vegan product. That means no animal derived ingredients like milk, honey, beeswax are never used in any product. That removes at least 80 percent of the brands on the market. The other criteria for being cruelty-free is having never tested products on animals. All of the global mass cosmetic brands have conducted testing on animals. This lust for profits at the expense of harming animals is inexcusable and should not be supported by purchasing their products.
In closing, these simple key filters will assist you to reduce down the list of choices to those brands that are deserving of your support. From there it will be an easy process of choosing the right skincare product for your complexion.
