Go in any location, look anywhere, and one will notice that there are obviously well over a thousand skin care brands on the market now. With so many selections, choosing the correct skin care products can be a little bit impossible. I’m going to help you to narrow down the options by using a simple filter of what could be important in choosing skin care items. We can remove virtually all of the brands by checking that the products are created by a brand which is; independently owned, are free of toxins, and are cruelty-free. These are key values that we all have in common and everyone supports from a brand.Indie brands are brands that have not received any outside money in exchange for a percentage of control of the company. These brands are typically refered to as Indie brands. There are several Indie brands across the market that exist on a small basis due to their smaller size. Plus there are a few Indie brands that are leading the action and have scaled up into a nationwide existence. There are also a few Indie brands that are chasing the prize of being globally-traded. One such brand in the Indie market is Russell Organics. The brand is expanding across all beauty channels from mass to prestige. Russell Organics is also internationally distributed, with a publicly stated goal of being the first globally traded Indie brand. If selecting an Indie brand be cautious of not disclosed outside investors. We have checked, and nearly all of the larger so-called Indie brands have received external investors.
The following filter for selecting a great skin care product is it being toxin free. What does this really mean? There are many synthetic ingredients, botanicals, waxes, and extracts used to formulate products. Many of these ingredients may be synthetic toxins that have been proven to be harmful to human beings and to the environment. Russell Organics is leading the Clean Beauty trend by not using harmful ingredients and by completely listing every ingredient in every product. Look on your own. Look at products. Do you see ingredients listed as fragrance? Did you realize that parfum may contain in excess of 900 chemicals and you would never realize which ones? Talk about a dangerous situation. Have you ever walk into a space and smell a fragrance and immediately have itcy eyes and start to sneeze? These are the toxins that can also be hiding in your skincare products. A wonderful resource to check on ingredients is Environmental Working Group which has created a deep database of ingredients and disclosed their toxicity.
The final filter is the brand being cruelty free. What does cruelty free really mean? There is a lot of confusion about the phrase. Let us start by identifying that to be cruelty-free, the product is required to be a vegan product. That means no animal derived ingredients like dairy, honey, beeswax are never added in any product. That removes at least 95 percent of the brands on the market. The other issue for being cruelty-free is having not tested products on animals. Every one of the global mass skin care brands have conducted testing on animals. This chasing of profits at the expense of killing animals is inexcusable and should not be supported by purchasing their products.
In summary, these basic key filters will assist you to narrow down the list of choices to those brands that are deserving of your support. From there it should be a simple process of choosing the right skincare product for your complexion.
