Abstract

The objective of the research work was to evaluate the influence of the concentrations of the bio-fertilizer “biol†on the growth and development characteristics of Lactuca sativa var. longifolia (Asteraceae) “lettuceâ€. in a hydroponic medium. in order to propose a biotechnological alternative for the use of organic waste for the fertilization of vegetables of commercial interest. Using a biol with values of 10 2000 Nitrogen, 219.10 Phosphorus and 1103. 80 Potassium with a time of 45 days of fermentation. The biol obtained was proceeded to make dilutions of 5, 10, 15 and 20%, which served as a replacement for the standard nutrient solutions for the hydroponic cultivation of Lactuca sativa var. longifolia, “lettuce†the results indicate that the 20% concentration of the biol is the one that generates the best yields in total weight, foliar and root length in lettuce plants. It is concluded that the biol is an economically and ecologically profitable alternative for the use of organic waste for the fertilization of hydroponic vegetables.
