PERIODO INTERGENÉSICO CORTO COMO FACTOR DE RIESGO PARA ABORTO RECURRENTE EN EL PRIMER TRIMESTRE DE EMBARAZO: ESTUDIO DE CASOS Y CONTROLES

RESUMEN

Objetivo: Determinar que el periodo intergenésico corto es un factor de riesgo para aborto recurrente en el primer trimestre del embarazo en gestantes que fueron atendidas en el servicio de obstetricia hospital Belén de Trujillo. Material y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio de tipo observacional, analítico, retrospectivo de casos y controles. La población en estudio inicialmente fue constituida por 309 pacientes gestantes de 25 a 40 años, agrupándolas en dos categorías: con y sin abortos recurrentes en el primer trimestre de embarazo, sin embargo, solo se encontraron 80 casos y 160 controles, aplicando la fórmula de reajuste de muestra dio como resultado una muestra de 45 casos. A pesar de ello para fines del estudio se decidió trabajar con la totalidad de la muestra encontrada. Resultados: En cuanto a los grupos de estudio en relación a la edad materna, la edad gestacional y el grado de instrucción, no se hallaron disimilitudes representativas. La asiduidad de periodo intergenésico corto en gestantes con aborto recurrente en el primer trimestre de embarazo fue 40%; La frecuencia de período intergenésico corto en gestantes sin aborto recurrente en el primer trimestre de embarazo fue 17.5%. El periodo intergenésico corto condiciona un odss ratio de 3.1 en relación al aborto recurrente en el primer trimestre de embarazo (p <0.05). Conclusiones: El periodo intergenésico corto representa un factor de riesgo asociado a aborto recurrente en el primer trimestre de embarazo en el Hospital Belén de Trujillo. ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine that the short birth interval is a risk factor for recurrent abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy in pregnant women who were attended in the obstetrics service Belén de Trujillo hospital. Methods: An observational, analytical, retrospective study of cases and controls was carried out. The study population was initially constituted by 309 pregnant patients from 25 to 40 years old, grouping them into two categories: with and without recurrent abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy, however, only 80 cases and 160 controls were found, applying the formula of readjustment of the sample resulted in a sample of 45 cases, although for study purposes it was decided to work with the entire sample found. Results: Regarding the study groups in relation to maternal age, gestational age and educational level, no representative dissimilarities were found. The assiduity of the short birth interval in pregnant women with recurrent abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy was 40%; The frequency of the short birth interval in pregnant women without recurrent abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy was 17.5%. The short birth interval determines an odds ratio (OR) of 3.1 in relation to recurrent abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy (p <0.05). Conclusions: The short birth interval represents a risk factor associated with recurrent abortion in the first trimester of pregnancy in the Belén de Trujillo Hospital.
