EL INTEGRACIONISMO LATINOAMERICANO DE DOMINGO FAUSTINO SARMIENTO

RESUMEN

Las páginas que siguen enfocan las líneas generales del pensamiento de Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (San Juan, Argentina, 1811-Asunción, Paraguay, 1888) sobre la integración de América Latina, uno de los grandes proyectos de nuestro tiempo, pero viejo anhelo anunciado desde siglos anteriores por grandes pensadores de la patria grande. Y ahora es un proceso similar a lo que sucede en otras regiones del mundo, pues, por todas partes se organizan vastas agrupaciones de países; tónica concomitante con la interdependencia de pueblos. El fenómeno de la mundialización acentúa cada vez más las relaciones entre naciones en materia política, cooperación económico- financiera, así como en asuntos de carácter educativo y cultural.

En el siglo XIX, Sarmiento fue uno de los pensadores que dirigió su mirada hacia el porvenir y contempló la marcha del mundo hacia vastas agrupaciones de países. Y no sólo escribió páginas acerca de la ahora denominada integración latinoamericana, sino también realizó ciertas acciones al respecto en el campo político y en cuestiones educativas y culturales.

Propuso la creación de los Estados Unidos de América del Sur, y con mayor énfasis una confederación de los Estados de la cuenca del Río de la Plata. La integración en el pensamiento de Sarmiento podría realizarse en forma gradual y por partes. Y en este proceso juega importante papel la educación popular. Sus principales ideas siguen vigentes. Sus libros reflejan la identidad de nuestros pueblos sin la cual no será posible ninguna empresa que busque agrupar a los países de esta porción del orbe. El artículo es fruto de una investigación cualitativa y de reflexiones en torno al integracionismo latinoamericano, a partir de los aportes del personaje estudiado.

ABSTRACT

The pages that continue focus the general lines of the thought of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento (San Juan, Argentina, 1811-Asunción, Paraguay, 1888) about the integration of Latin America, one of the great projects of our time, but it is an old previous yearning announced from centuries by the thinkers of the great country. And now it is a similar process to what happens in other regions of the world, therefore, people organize vast groups of countries all over around; and it is a concomitant tonic with the interdependency of towns. The phenomenon of the globalization accentuates each time more the relations among nations in politics, economic-financial cooperation, as well as in matters of cultural and educational characters. In the 19th century, Sarmiento was one of the thinkers that directed his look toward the future and contemplated the march of the world toward vast groups of countries. And he did not only write pages about the now called Latin-American integration, but also he carried out certain on the matter in the political actions and in cultural and educational questions.

He proposed the creation of the United States of South America, and with greater emphasis a confederation of the States of the basin of the River of La Plata. The integration in the thought of Sarmiento would be able to be carried out in gradual form and by parts. And in this process plays important role the popular education. Its main ideas continue in force.

Sarmiento’s books reflect the identity of our towns without which will not be possible any business that seek to group the countries of this portion of the globe.

The article is a result of a qualitative investigation and about reflections around the integration of Latin-American, from the contribution of the personage studied.
