GESTACIÓN DE LA CIVILIZACIÓN ANDINA: LOS FACTORES QUE DETERMINARON A QUE AFLORARA

RESUMEN
Las investigaciones sobre la prehistoria europea se vieron obligadas a limitarse al análisis
de proyectiles más otras herramientas y artefactos líticos, debido a la falta de otros
testimonios que permitieran establecer secuencias culturales, rastrear rutas de difusión o
determinar cronologías relativas y absolutas.
Es muy probable que esta metodología fuese la que inspiró a los numerosos arqueólogos
norteamericanos que realizaron investigaciones acerca del desarrollo cultural en los Andes,
y a que por ello insistieran en establecer fases de desarrollo y de difusión basadas en la portentosa
alfarería que distingue a este proceso.
La atención reducida a desentrañar estos aspectos habría motivado que el tema de los
orígenes se limitara a tratar de establecer el punto de partida de la civilización andina, como
fue el caso del gran Julio C. Tello quien señalaba que la misma tenía sus orígenes en Chavín.
Por tanto, no mereció debida atención un tema que consideramos crucial y es establecer
cuáles fueron los factores que determinaron la gestación de la civilización que floreció en el
Perú ancestral, tema al que dedicamos el presente ensayo.

ABSTRACT

The earliest investigation into European prehistory was limited to the analysis of projectiles,
plus other stone artifacts and tools, due to the absence of additional evidence that would
make it possible to establish cultural sequences, trace dissemination routes, and determine
relative or absolute chronologies.

It is very likely that this methodology was what inspired the many archaeologists from the United States who conducted the first research related to the emergence of cultural development in the Andes, and for this reason they insisted on establishing phases of development and dissemination based on the marvelous pottery that distinguishes this process.
A focus on unraveling such aspects appears to be what led to the questions concerning the origins of Andean culture being limited to attempts to establish its starting point. Such was the case of the great Julio C. Tello, who maintained that Andean civilization had its origins in Chavín culture.
And so it was that an issue we regard as crucial did not receive due attention: the determining of the factors that defined the evolution of the civilization that flourished in ancestral Peru, the subject to which we devote the following essay.
