Abstract
A new species Browallia salpoana S. Leiva (Solanaceae) is described and illustrated. B. salpoana is from Cerro Ragash, Salpo District, Otuzco Province, La Libertad Department, Peru, 3696 m elevation. The species is characterized primarily by its solitary flower arrangement, the indumentum of its floral organs, the included style, an obconical capsule with few seeds, the seeds black and coriaceous, 48-60 per fruit. Data is included regarding the geographic distribution, ecology, phenology, conservation status, and its relationship with another similar species.

Se describe e ilustra en detalle Browallia salpoana S. Leiva (Solanaceae), una nueva especie del Departamento La Libertad, Perú. Browallia salpoana es propia del Cerro Ragash, Distrito Salpo, Prov. Otuzco, Dpto. La Libertad, Perú, alrededor de los 3696 m de elevación. Se caracteriza principalmente por la disposición de las flores solitarias, el indumento de sus órganos florales, estilo incluso, cápsula obcónica con 48-60 semillas negras o atropurpúreas. Se incluyen datos sobre su distribución geográfica y ecología, fenología, estado actual y sus relaciones con otra especie afín.
