JALTOMATA ATHAHUALLPAE (SOLANACEAE), UNA NUEVA ESPECIE DEL NORTE DEL PERÚ

Resumen

Se describe e ilustra en detalle Jaltomata athahuallpae S. Leiva & Mione (Solanaceae), una nueva especie del norte del Perú. J. athahuallpae es propia de la ruta entre Namora-Cajamarca, Llacanora-Cajamarca y en la subida Cajamarca hacia el cerro Santa Apolonia, distritos Namora, Llacanora y Cajamarca, provincias San Marcos y Cajamarca, dpto. Cajamarca, Perú, a los 7º11'95,2â€-7º12'09,5†S y 78º25'78,7â€-78º19'53,7†O, entre los 2751-2761 m de elevación, presenta 10-15 (-20) flores por nudo, cáliz rodeado por una cobertura de pelos glandulares transparentes externamente, limbo de la corola 10-lobulado, púrpura claro externamente, cremoso interiormente, estambres inclusos, ovario ovado con disco nectarífero cremoso que ocupa el 50-60 % de su longitud basal, tallos rodeados por una cobertura de pelos glandulares transparentes. Adicionalmente a la descripción, se presenta la ilustración correspondiente, se discuten sus relaciones con otra especie afín e incluyen datos sobre etnobotánica, distribución geográfica y ecología, fenología, estado actual y usos de la especie.

Abstract

Jaltomata athahuallpae S. Leiva & Mione (Solanaceae), a new species from Northern Peru, is described and illustrated in detail. J. athahuallpae is found along the road Namora-Cajamarca, Llacanora-Cajamarca and in the ascension from Cajamarca to Santa Apolonia hill, districts of Namora, Llacanora and Cajamarca, provinces of San Marcos and Cajamarca, department of Cajamarca, Peru, at 7º11'95.2â€-7º12'09.5†S and 78º25'78.7â€-78º19'53.7†W, between 2751-2761 m above sea level. It presents 10-15 (-20) flowers per node, calyx surrounded by a cover of transparent glandular hairs externally, corolla limb 10-lobulate, light purple externally, cream internally, included stamens, ovary ovate with cream nectariferous disc which occupies 50-60 % of its basal length, stems surrounded by a cover of transparent glandular hairs. Additionally to the description, the correspondent illustration is presented, its relation with other similar species is discussed and data concerning ethnobotany, geographical distribution and ecology, phenology, current status and uses of the species is included.
