EFICACIA DEL TRATAMIENTO FISIOTERAPÉUTICO DE LA CERVICALGIA MEDIANTE LA TRACCIÓN CERVICAL Y EL TRATAMIENTO CONVENCIONAL

RESUMEN

Con el objetivo de determinar la eficacia del tratamiento fisioterapéutico de la cervicalgia mediante la tracción cervical y el tratamiento convencional, se realizó un estudio de ensayo clínico aleatorizado en dos grupos de 26 pacientes con diagnóstico de cervicalgia que acudieron al Servicio de Medicina Física del Hospital Víctor Lazarte Echegaray EsSalud durante enero y febrero del 2012. Estos pacientes fueron asignados aleatoriamente a uno de los dos grupos en estudio, uno de los cuales fue sometido a tracción cervical y el otro a terapia convencional. Ambos grupos fueron evaluados en relación con el dolor antes de iniciar el tratamiento a los cinco días y al finalizar el tratamiento. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó la prueba de Ji², t de student y Análisis de Varianza de una Sola Vía (ANOVA), fijando el nivel de significancia en P<0,05. Se encontró que ambos tratamientos fueron eficaces; sin embargo, la tracción cervical fue más eficaz que el tratamiento convencional.

ABSTRACT

Aiming at determining the efficiency of the physiotherapeutic treatment ofcervicalgia through cervical traction and conventional treatment, we carried out arandomized clinical test study upon two groups of 26 patients diagnosed withcervicalgia, who sought attention at the Physical Medicine Unit of EsSalud's VictorLazarte Echegaray hospital during January and February 2012.Said patients were randomly assigned to one of the study groups, one of which wastreated with cervical traction, while the other was treated with the conventionaltreatment. Both groups were pain-evaluated before starting the treatment, five dayslater, and at the end of the treatment. For the statistical analysis, we used the Jisquaredtest, Student's T, and a one-way Analysis of Variance, determining thesignificance level is P<0.05. It was found out: Both treatments were efficient;however, cervical traction was more efficient than the conventional treatment.
