Flores Núñez, started in the district of Poroto and continued in various educational institutions of the province of Trujillo. From a very young age he devoted himself to the teaching profession and left an indelible mark among his students and the community. We have gone to our and colleagues’ archives, as well as interviews with students and people who dealt with the character. This allowed us to elaborate our description and reflection; they indicate that recognition is achieved by the vocation of service, not because it is sought expressly. RESUMEN

El presente artículo tiene el objetivo de presentar la destacada labor realizada por el profesor de educación primaria Carlos E. Flores Núñez, iniciada en el distrito de Poroto y continuada en diversas instituciones educativas de la provincia de Trujillo. Desde muy joven se dedicó al ejercicio magisterial y dejó huella imborrable entre sus alumnos y la comunidad. Hemos acudido a archivos nuestros y de colegas, así como a entrevistas a exalumnos y personas que trataron con el personaje. Esto nos permitió elaborar nuestra descripción y reflexión; ellas indican que el reconocimiento se logra por la vocación de servicio, no porque se lo busque expresamente.
